Children come and stay at Blessing House when:

• A family receives an eviction notice and has no safe place for their children to stay.

• A family’s home has no gas, water or electricity available.

• A family is living in a residence that is temporarily unsuitable or unsafe for their children. (Including unsanitary conditions, insect infestation, home repairs in progress)

• A family has legal commitments or difficulties and has no safe place for the children to stay. (Including incarceration, custodial problems)

• A parent or caregiver is trying to leave an environment of domestic violence, and has immediate concerns for the safety of his or her children.

• A parent or caregiver is being admitted to a hospital and has no reliable adult to care for his or her children.

• A family member has a physical or mental impairment and needs immediate attention, but there is no one to care for the children.

• A parent or caregiver is experiencing a high level of stress and there is concern regarding his or her ability to safely care for the children.

• A parent or caregiver is unable to provide safe care for his or her children because of involvement with drugs or alcohol.

• A parent needs to seek treatment for an addiction and has no one to care for his or her child.

• A family’s environment has become unstable because of a child’s behavior issues.
