We are now in the process of contracting for a part time Licensed Independent Social Worker to work with our children and families. The social worker will be working with both the children and their parents/caregivers, offering assessments, information and case management as the need arises. 

 

Duties will include:

1.)   Meeting with parent/caregiver as part of intake, determining needs.

2.)   Assessing children (developmentally, emotionally etc) while at Blessing House

3.)   Providing ongoing case management to parent/caregiver.

4.)   Following up with the family after discharge

5.)   Reviewing children’s files and other duties as required by state law

6.)   Providing training to Blessing House staff

7.)   Being available for consultations with Blessing House staff

8.)   Networking with other agencies and professionals in the community

 

The position is initially expected to require a commitment of 12 to 15 hours a week. The social worker will be expected to be flexible to be able to meet the fluctuating needs of an organization that works with families in crisis.

 

Requirements: LISW (Licensed Independent Social Worker), Masters Degree in Social Work, prior experience working with families at risk, commitment to the mission of Blessing House
