Volunteering at Blessing House

Volunteers can help at Blessing House in the following ways:
Onsite Volunteering
- House maintenance: Mowing the yard, pulling weeds, helping with the garden, and various other maintenance projects
- Office projects: Helping with bulk mailings
- Child activity projects: Providing an activity day for children at the house (Pizza party, Christmas party, etc.)

- Sorting and managing donations: Helping to sort the donations of clothes and toys that come to the house
Offsite Volunteering
- Fundraisers: Helping on a committee that supports one of our fundraisers (Rock-A-Bye Ball, Golf Outing)
- Christmas giveaway assistance: Helping to sort and distribute the many donations received at Christmas time from the community for our families
- Become a community outreach ambassador,
- Developing partnerships with:
- Churches
- Corporations
- Civic groups
Includes: Contacting pastors, outreach personnel, community resource personnel or officers to tell them about Blessing House. Offering to meet with them and/or supply them with information. Inviting them to tour the house. Offering to provide a speaker for meetings.
- Developing business sponsorships:
Includes: Soliciting and setting up a schedule for in kind donations. Contacting companies (drug stores, discount stores, grocery stores, restaurants, etc.) to solicit donations to use at the house including diapers, formula, household items, and food. Setting up a schedule to pick up or drop off donations. Picking up donations and delivering them to the house.
Have a garage sale, neighborhood walk, dress down day, or other fun event to raise money for our kids. If we know about it in advance and are available, we would love to come and speak to your group.

Board meetings are held 10 times a year, on the 4th Tuesday of the month. Board members are actively engaged in the support of Blessing House through involvement on committees, participation in fundraisers and engagement in the community.
