Rock a Bye Ball 2014

What a night!
I don’t even think there are words to describe all of the excitement and emotions that I felt at our 10th Rock a Bye Ball Saturday evening.  There were so many moments that were so special as 300 people came out to celebrate …the children and families of Blessing House.  The ball is always such a wonderful experience.  I look forward to seeing so many of our friends and supporters.
I am always amazed when I walk in and see how the hall has been transformed by the committee.  This year’s theme, “Oz,”  was especially fun.  I felt like I was the one on the way to the Emerald City.
The energy was evident among all who were there.  It means so much to be part of such a positive, upbeat evening and to feel the support from so many.  We were able to raise $85,000 from the raffle and the event, a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone who helped.
There are so many people we would like to thank:
First and foremost, we would like to thank Lisa Bramhall, Sam Mazzola and the Rock-a-Bye Committee for all of their hard work.  It takes months of planning to put all of this together and they really worked hard this year to make everything special for our 10th anniversary year.  Thanks to Minerva Alvarado, Kathleen Beharry, Cindy Cromling, Bill Gallagher, Jackie Gerberry, Donna Katrincsak, Jennifer Nunn, Kayla Katrincsak, Molly Lucas, Lisa Lonsway, Melanie McAllister, Linda Neiding, Brenda Norton, Jim Pluta, Leslie Szalai, Donna Wells, and Lisa Zidar.
We would like to thank Caroline Emerine for once again producing two amazing videos for our event.  Caroline has made videos for every ball that we have had and they just keep getting better each year.  She is so creative and her heart for the children really comes through in her work.  I am touched every time I watch one of her videos and want to extend a special thank you for helping us carry our message to others through her insights and hard work.
We would like to thank all of our sponsors for their generous support.  This year we were honored to be able to recognize our long time supporters.
We would like to thank all who donated auction items.  We had a fabulous selection of live and silent auction items this year and the auctions alone generated $25,000 for us.
We would like to thank Joe Schneeberger, a friend, who emceed and helped with our auction.  Joe did a wonderful job once again.
We would like to thank Deacon Jane Trager for coming to do our invocation.  Part of Jane’s prayer was especially touching, “We thank you, Lord, that the yellow house on Grove Ave. is a safe place in a world that isn’t always safe.”
We would like to thank Rob Levit for donating the beautiful ring that raised over $8,000 for our children.
We would like to thank Theresia Oreskovic  of Peter & Co. Jewelers for donating the shopping spree for our raffle.  Everyone loved the bracelets that she donated as part of our raffle.
We would like to thank Bill Gallagher for donating our sponsor signs and programs.  They were striking as always.
We would like to thank Kevin Fuge and Off Broadway for the stunning decorations.  It is always amazing to watch Kevin transform the hall into another place and we admire his talent and creativity.
We would like to thank Bill Hricovec of Tom’s Country Place for another superb meal.  Bill always prepares such excellent meals and goes above and beyond for our event.
We would like to thank Jon Velez of Super Printer who helped with our invitations and signage.
We also would like to thank all of those who sold raffle tickets for us this year.  This was a first time fundraiser for us and we were so pleased to have so many volunteer to reach out to others to help us take advantage of the ring donation and raise more money for our kids.  A special thank you to Linda Neiding and Donna Katrincsak for helping coordinate this project.
As you can see, it takes a pretty big community to put on such a successful event and we are thankful to be blessed by people who are committed to our children and families.
We continue to help those who come to us for assistance and we are only able to do this because of all of you.
Thanks to everyone for all you do. We are blessed and we pray for God’s blessings on you.
